Making Business More Personal |
UPDATE: This product still exists, but it is now called AudioBoom.
There are a few blips and twangs with the audio, but that may be a function of my microphone, or the impossibly loud noise my older computer is making under the desk, or some quirk of my internet this morning.
Audioboom Expands Your Reach
But I have to say I like the idea that the posts (with your URLS or whatever you want people to actually find) are available on the Audioboom site, expanding my reach to people who might never find their way to my Facebook page. Audioboom can be set to automatically post to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, WordPress.com, or Blogger. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into, so I did not want to automatically post until I figured out what the end product would look like. You can include images and links, and even upload your own audio if you do not want to record directly through the Audioboom site. Audioboom is Free There is also an Audioboom app that you can download here. The free account allows you to record up to 3 minutes of audio, and the paid version allows you to record up to 30 minutes. I am using the free version, as three minutes is more than adequate to say what I wanted to say on this Facebook Fan Page Friday post. Perhaps I will consider an upgrade if I decide I want to start podcasting or something. I believe you can also use video, but at 7 am I am not inclined to be on camera. I’ll check that out later too, and report back to you. Audioboom is Easy So far, I like this tool, and would like to experiment with it further. It is easy to use, and while my audio wasn’t perfect, I believe that was my problem and not Audioboom. The whole experiment took me about 10 minutes to set up – that long only because I had some issues with my microphone. Incidentally, today is the first day I ever heard of Audioboom, and I have no relationship with them and have not received any compensation to do this little review. What’s not to like? Check out Audioboo for free.
