I originally posted this image back in 2016. But it seems to me that it is no longer true.

In the last couple of years, we have seen a barrage of revelations about public figures who were outed being stupid, racist, sexist, sexual predators, or something else because of something they did BEFORE the internet.

This week alone, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been raked over the coals for being a multiple offender for the crime of wearing blackface. He was caught on camera, and even video, impersonating Aladdin (badly) and singing in a Jamaican accent.
A number of other public figures have been fired or experienced other consequences from past "blackface" incidents. Governor Northam of Virginia was exposed as having appeared in blackface in a yearbook photo from medical school, accompanied by a man in a KKK hood.
James Gunn, director of the popular "Guardians of the Galaxy" films was fired from the upcoming sequel because of a series of shocking tweets that strongly suggested he was a pedophile. Among the offending tweets were: “I like when little boys touch me in my silly place," and ”The best thing about being raped is when you're done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this

feels great, not being raped!’” There were others that joked about the 9/11 attack, AIDS and the Holocaust.
Who can forget the infamous Kavanaugh hearings? What should have been a routine confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice who had previously been unanimously confirmed as a federal judge devolved into a media circus. Brett Kavanaugh's entire life was examined under a microscope over spurious accusations of sexual misconduct during high school over 30 years ago!  Predictably, people quickly chose sides, and became firmly entrenched in their position, regardless of evidence. Even now, each side is firmly convinced that their side was "right."
I hope this blog will be a place where we can talk about our differences without being belligerent, As I have said elsewhere in these pages, I am a conservative, and everything that implies.  I hope you also understand that does not mean I hate you,  Let's talk about it.

Trigger Warning: I am an enthusiastic supporter of @realdonaldtrump and my Twitter feed reflects this. If this is a problem for you, feel free to move on. I'd rather you stick around and try to understand, and I will do the same.
